our story

The Hoebridge is an independent restaurant in the Scottish Borders opened in 2015 by Hamish Carruthers & Kyle Tidd. Our focus is on creating small seasonal menus that change each month, enabling us to serve our customers the freshest local produce available. We pride ourselves on making everything we can by hand. What we don't make ourselves we source from some of the best producers in Scotland – Shaw's for our local meats, fish & shellfish from Ross Dougal in Eyemouth, organic flours from Mungoswells in East Lothian, I.J. Mellis cheese, locally-roasted Luckie Coffee and beer from Tempest Brewery.

We are open for dinner Wednesday–Saturday. Be the first to know about news and special events by joining our mailing list below. We look forward to seeing you at the restaurant.

Bar

Join us at the bar to enjoy our selection of craft cocktails, natural & organic wines, and no- & low-alcohol alternatives. We offer over ten different wines by the glass, a range of local beers from award-winning Tempest Brewery, and dozens of single malt whiskies and artisan gins from across Scotland and beyond. The bar is open to all, whether you are joining us for a pre-dinner drink or just want to stop by for a cocktail.

The Hoebridge is a great location for special events and private parties. The room is self-contained, perfect for quiet dinners away from the buzz of the main dining room or for group celebrations. The entire restaurant is also available for private parties, both during and outside of normal business hours.

Garden

Our garden area sits to the west side of the building adjacent the main dining room. It's the perfect place to catch the sun and spend an evening when the weather is right. The garden is equally welcome for guests who are wishing to step out for a drink before dinner, and for those looking to stop by for drinks in the fresh air.
